Yesterday I was very pleased to see that Orchard Toys Alphabet Lotto won Talking Tot’s Best Pre-Literacy Skills toy. We love this game and think it is a very worthy winner.
This game has five double sided lotto boards and two sets of cards – one with pictures and one with the initial sounds. This means that you can mix and match – pictures to pictures, letters to letters, pictures to sounds and sounds to pictures – or any combination between players making it a great game for a differentiated phonics activity.
One of the great things about this game which makes it different from other alphabet lotto games is that it also includes the phonic sounds ch, th and wh.
